Inspired by my twin brother with severe learning difficulties, I embarked on a self-initiated project. The goal was to share visual handbooks on various topics that would help him lead a more engaged and positive life.
As a self-initiated project, constraints included limited development resources due to bootstrapping. Understanding the complexity of creating a product for individuals with severe learning difficulties, including issues like limited internet access and misinterpreting user capacity for self-initiated learning.

With our end-user in mind and the constraints of having to fund the development of the product, we worked hard to create the simplest possible user flow. Aiming to make it simple, easy and fast to create a new handbook with what we hoped would be a single click to share with others.
We wanted an insanely simple onboarding that would explain what the product does, how it could be used and how it works. We tried to combine both the explanation of the product, while also getting people straight into using it.
Assisting as much as we could with the development we created a UI kit of components that helped our developer with implementing the design.
Animation of how simple it was to create a brand new handbook which users could then add in images and captions to explain how to do a simple task.
Here's how you listed the items required to complete your task and the functions to inform users of how long this task would take to finish.
